Three ISAF soldiers die in Afghanistan  

KABUL (BNO NEWS) -- Three foreign soldiers with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) alliance were killed during two separate incidents in Afghanistan on Friday, officials said on Saturday. Several others were injured.

Two of the soldiers were from Poland who died when their convoy was hit by an improvised explosive device in the country's Wardak province, near Highway 1. The victims were driving in a Cougar Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle when the incident happened.

Four other soldiers were also injured in the blast, one seriously. The injured were immediately transported by helicopter to the base in Ghazni where they received medical treatment. The most seriously wounded soldier underwent surgery.

Also on Friday, a U.S. soldier died of wounds he sustained in an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan. No further details were immediately released.

The families of the victims have been informed.
