SINGAPORE : Senior Minister S Jayakumar on Friday said the fight against terrorism must still continue even with the death of wanted terrorist Noordin Mohammed Top.

The fugitive was killed in a police raid in Indonesia last month.

Speaking at the National Security seminar on Friday morning, Professor Jayakumar noted that the Jemaah Islamiah network remains active, and continues to receive support and new members.

He added that the world is dealing with a real and persistent threat with no end in sight.

Professor Jayakumar, who is also the Coordinating Minister for National Security, said that terrorists are constantly adapting and seeking new ways to overcome the latest security measures.

He added that even the best of measures cannot provide iron-clad protection.

He said that the price that the country must bear is eternal vigilance and alertness against complacency.
